We would advise setting your materials up into sections. E.g., have the stone and resin positioned around the installation area so aggregate and resin are always easily accessible.
Step 1 (Concrete, block paving or slabs)
Pour the primer into a decorator’s trough and roll the surface with the primer. Take care to not splash it onto PVC cills and patios. Try to not walk on the primer. Once applied leave it 15 minutes to go tacky.
Step 2 (Mixing)
Add Part B to Part A and mix with a paddle drill. Whisk for 90 seconds.
Step 3 (Mix with stone)
Weigh out the stone so that you have approx. ½ (50 Kg) into a gorilla bucket. Make sure you have equal amounts as inaccuracy can result in different colours.
Again, weighing the resin out, add 50% to the bucket of stone and mix together with a paddle whisk for 120 seconds. Make sure the resin coats all the stone
Step 4 (Application)
Resin and stone are usually distributed at an approx. depth of 18mm for a final depth of 15mm and 21mm for a final depth of 18mm. Using a flat wide trowel, you will push down using your upper body weight to consolidate (Squash) the stone together. You would usually do the consolidation by pushing forwards and back towards yourself lifting the lip of the trowel a small amount to prevent kicking the material back up. You would then sweep gently left to right to get rid of any trowel marks. Ensure you work quickly as you will only have between 5 and 10 Minutes of working time
You may use white spirit to clean the trowel and act as a lubricant.
Step 5
Repeat as above with the remaining stone and resin
You will generally have a working time of around 20 minutes before the mixture starts to stiffen and trowelling gets more difficult. In summer the trowel time can be reduced to 5 minutes. The hotter it is the faster it cures. 100 kg of stone and one resin kit will give you a coverage of 4M2 at a depth of 15mm. It will take approx. 5 hours for the resin to harden (longer in winter)
